Uranquinty Power Station

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Uranquinty Power Station

ICG have executed site establishment and laydown works for Origin Energy safely and on schedule, allowing Siemens to undertake the Uranquinty Power Station's first Partial Major Inspection (PMI). The inspection required the removal and inspection of two of the gas turbine and generator rotors.

Components of the works were undertaken in areas that contained various sources of energy, including gas at high pressure and live electrical circuits. ICG's scope consisted of modifications to existing hard stands, road extensions, cast in situ bored pier turbine rotor destack and container cover foundations, generator rotor rail structure foundations and cable and water trenching works.

The foundations required the installation of turbine rotor turning pedestal and twist-lock container locking system plates which was performed under the supervision of the Origin and Siemens Representatives, to ensure adherence to stringent QA specifications.
