Essential Energy is a NSW Government-owned corporation with responsibility for building, operating and maintaining Australia's largest electricity network that spans 95% of New South Wales' land mass and parts of southern Queensland.
ICG Construction Group completed the construction of the Essential Energy Field Service Centre at Griffith. The administration building consists of office space, operations areas, training facilities and catering facilities.
The timber framed structure is bolstered by structural steel building including sloped façade elements. The external includes a large carport structure, customer parking, transformer shed, pole racking, retention pond, extensive asphalt and hardstand areas all within a security secured facility.
The original land was owned and used for CSIRO research as a fruit orchard which posed a number of challenging issues within the ground works.
